Veteran from St. Petersburg Zinaida Korneva and captain Tom Moore from the UK finally connected via video link during Internet teleconference organized by the TV channel “Russia-1”.
Mr. Moore thanked the Russian for the gifts for the 100th anniversary and Victory Day. “Tom loved all the gifts. You made him happy!”, said the daughter of British veteran, who helped father during online-meetings. Zinaida Korneva inquired about the health of his colleagues and thanked him for the inspiration.
Zinaida Kornev became famous in Russia and abroad, started a fundraiser for doctors struggling with the epidemic of the coronavirus. Inspired by the example of a British captain, the woman began to record stories about the great Patriotic war.
Tom Moore went 100 laps with the Walker around his house, gathering nearly 33 million pounds for the British physicians. The British government announced that the captain will welcome the title of knight.
