The Russian government is considering a bill according to which a person who has not served in the army cannot become president. The new ban for candidates was announced by LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky on the air of the Komsomolskaya Pravda radio station, reports URA.RU .
Thus, the politician commented on the statement of rapper Morgenstern about plans to run for president of Russia.
“You can dream, but no one will register it. Amendments to the law state that there can be no presidential candidate without military service,” Zhirinovsky said.
Morgenstern announced his intention to become president of Russia in August 2021. He admitted that he loves his native country madly and wants to lead it in 10-15 years. He noted that he had been to many other countries, and his mother lives in Europe, but he himself would not be able to move anywhere.
