The President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky confirms the approval of the new program of cooperation with the IMF format “stand-by” in the amount of $ 5 billion for a period of 18 months.
He stated this during a telephone conversation with President of Finland Sauli Niinistö today, may 22, the correspondent of IA REGNUM.
Zelensky said that all prerequisites for the start of practical work on the IMF programme already done.
He also noted that the funds are directed to the preservation of the balance of payments and support the state budget of Ukraine.
The President asked the head of Finland with a request for further support of Ukraine in cooperation with international financial organizations.
IA REGNUM reminds that earlier in the government and in the Verkhovna Rada said that Ukraine expects to receive from the IMF before the end of may the first tranche in the amount of $1.75 billion.
