The Minister of foreign Affairs of Iran Mohammad Javad Zarif, April 20, will come to Syria, where he will meet with Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad and foreign Minister Walid Muallem. The parties will discuss the situation in Syria and the fight against terrorism.
“In the course of this day trip, he will discuss with President of Syria Bashar al-Assad and foreign Minister Walid Muallem bilateral relations, the situation in the region, as well as the political changes and the development of the situation “on the ground” in the fight against terrorism”, — quotes RIA Novosti the representative of the Iranian foreign Ministry Abbas Mousavi.
In January, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said that Tehran intends to develop relations with Damascus.
In the same month, high-ranking government delegation arrived in Tehran to discuss the situation in the region.
The delegation was headed by Prime Minister SAR Imad Khamis, also it included the foreign Minister of Syria Walid Muallem and defense Minister, Ali Abdullah Ayub.
