MOSCOW, 27 Jun – RIA Novosti. The investigation of Czech media on arrival in the country alleged Russian intelligence services – is a fake and another irritant in bilateral relations, said the official representative of Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.
Earlier in the Czech mass media appeared information that in the country allegedly came from the Russian security services in the Luggage which could be poison. As reported, a number of senior officials were placed under enhanced protection, among them were the mayor (head) of the district Prague 6 ondřej kolář, initiated April 3, dismantled the monument to Soviet Marshal Ivan Konev. Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said that he knew nothing about the investigation of Czech media about the Russians supposedly arrived in the country to assassinate officials – according to him, it’s like another “duck”.
According to Zakharova, the nature of the appearance of this information is a big reason for the “good investigative journalism”. “In recent years there have been many European structures that deal with fakes, stuffing and so on. Let them pay attention to this next portion of some sort – I don’t even know how to describe it – fake, misinformation, ballot box stuffing” – she said in the program “60 minutes.”
Zakharov noted that such situations are factor of irritation in bilateral relations. “Obviously, our bilateral relations between Moscow and Prague are beginning to engage third force, namely, just to spoil it,” – said the diplomat. She recalled that there had been some ballot box stuffing and unfriendly steps, which “clearly suggests that someone is itching to spoil the relations between Moscow and Prague.”
Zakharov was cited as an example the situation with the monument to Soviet Marshal Ivan Konev. “It is clearly stood the American campaign, which the whole story anyway information, the logistics just sponsored,” she said.
“Such things can not remain without attention and the profile of the journalistic community, and all those numerous structures and a lot of them in Brussels was established, which should deal with misinformation. Really want to carefully identified these sources, it was clear where this information comes from, who catapulted who published”, she said.
Authorities of the district Prague 6, implementing its decision of September 12, 2019, dismantled 3 April, the monument to Konev. According to the initiator of the demolition, the head of the district of ondřej Kolář, the monument is transferred to the Museum of the history of the twentieth century. Konev monument was installed in Prague at the initiative of the city authorities in the late 1970’s-early 1980-ies. It was built on means of inhabitants of Prague in gratitude for the fact that the commander has preserved buildings of the Czech capital, and ordered not to use heavy artillery during the assault on the city during its liberation from the Nazis in may 1945.
