Zack Snyder, filmmaker behind 300 and Man of Steel, will release the first part of his ambitious Rebel Moon diptych on December 22 on Netflix.
A Child of Fire will be followed by The Scargiver on April 19, 2024.
The screenplay by Zack Snyder, Kurt Johnstad and Shay Hatten tells the story of Kora (Sofia Boutella, seen among others in The Mummy), a warrior with a mysterious past whose now peaceful life is disrupted by the armies of a tyrant. “As the threat of an entire kingdom looms over the most unlikely of moons, a battle for the fate of a galaxy begins and a new army of heroes is forged,” reads Netflix’s YouTube channel. The film, which has been in production for over 10 years, will also be released in select theaters.
