The authorities of Yakutia, which controls the airline “Yakutia” and “Polar airlines”, announced the establishment of a far Eastern airline, which will have a single route network and schedule. It was assumed that the company will be established on the basis of a member of the “Aeroflot”, “Aurora” and will operate exclusively Russian equipment. Kommersant’s sources in the market believe that the Yakut authorities thus try to attract additional state to save the regional airline. The head of Yakutia Aisen Nikolayev, after a meeting with the head of Rosaviatsiya Alexander Neradko said that the Republic supports the project of creating a single far East state of the airline distribution route network, one timetable, fleet and tariff policy, “including in terms of subsidies”. The announcement on the evening of 30 June, appeared on the website of the government of the Republic.Mr. Nikolayev said that “Yakutia” and “Polar airlines” operate including Russian aircraft (SSJ100, An-2, An-24, L-410). The company signed a preliminary agreement to operate the Il-114 and L-610 (currently not running in series). In his opinion, joining the Republican carriers for the project will allow to reduce the cost of aircraft fleet and to create a common pool of component parts and engines in the far East. The Federal air transport Agency saying that the proposals on financial-organizational models of the far Eastern airlines are at the stage of formation and elaboration of proposals. “The draft “road map” creating this airline is really developed and will be forwarded to all interested subjects of the far Eastern Federal district, the ministries and departments”,— said the Agency.Previously it was assumed that the airline will be based on the “Aurora”, member of the group “Aeroflot”. Kommersant’s sources in the industry say that Aeroflot is not interested to develop business with the regional carrier, which is specific and differs from business major international airlines. In 2020, it was reported that the authorities of the Sakhalin region (control 49% of the “Aurora”) are in talks with Aeroflot to buy back its shares (51%) in the “Aurora”. On the participation of the Yakut carriers in the project were not reported.Kommersant’s source in the industry familiar with the development of the idea of creating a single far East, the company says that a few months ago, part “Yakutia” and “Polar airlines” in the draft was not discussed. “It seems that the authorities of the Republic needed the support of the Federal government, so they now made such a statement,” he said.”The question is, why, in principle, need this company. What task can’t perform the working withtoday in the market carriers? The project should be based on the tasks”,— said the source “Kommersant” in the aviation market.Another source of “Kommersant” notes that the regional transportation needs of the far Eastern turboprop aircraft capable of landing on ground cover and replace the An-24. The SSJ100 aircraft for this task is not suitable. Besides, it’s too much aircraft for the traffic flow, the existing at the existing far East lines and roll out new routes in the current environment, in terms of the epidemic extremely difficult.Herman Kostryns’ka
