President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko is afraid of mass opposition protests after the presidential election, but most of all frightens him can support such independence from the West. About this in an interview with the Ukraine.ru told columnist MIA “Russia today” Vladimir Kornilov.
Kornilov believes that the opposition is not concerned about Lukashenko.
“it was already aluminiowa, so to speak, and marginalizadas, although he really is afraid of the Maidan after the election. Not so much independence, how much support these protests and riots from the West,” — said the expert.
On a post of the President of Belarus claimed five candidates: Svetlana Tikhanovski, Andrey Dmitriev, Anna Konopacka, Sergey Caraceni and acting head of state Alexander Lukashenko.
The main voting day scheduled for 9 August.
To participate in the elections was not allowed the two candidates, the former head of Belgazprombank Viktor Babariko and former head of the high-tech Park Valery Tsepkalo. Tsepkalo left Belarus and now is in Ukraine, Babariko arrested. He is accused of “acceptance of official values as part of an organized group.” Also arrested the husband of the candidate in presidents of Belarus Svetlana Tikhanovski, which some media referred to as a main rival of Lukashenko.
