Director Alain DesRochers, who signed the majority of BB clips, will be at the helm of an audiovisual work dedicated to the group entitled Why you’re in the moon.
The project is in preliminary stages, with no screenwriter currently associated with this production. Christal Films simply announced that it had acquired the rights to produce a film or TV series about the popular group.
“I am very happy that the BB story is being brought to the screen by the Christal Films team,” said Ludovick Bourgeois. The son of Patrick Bourgeois evokes “a respectful and unifying film”, which will highlight the phenomenon that was Les BB.
“Les BB is undoubtedly the most popular pop-rock boy band that Quebec has ever known! For us, a film on the life of the famous group is a must, as were the films on Dédé Fortin and Gerry Boulet,” said Christian Larouche, of Christal Films.
The BB released four albums from the late 1980s to the early 1990s. Singer Patrick Bourgeois died of cancer in 2017, while drummer François Jean died in 2020.
