The Kenyan police arrested five teachers at a primary school on Thursday. The six teachers are said to have had their students simulate sex as punishment. A corresponding video had spread rapidly in online networks and caused outrage.
The nearly 30-second video shows four elementary school students in uniform performing sexual acts. The adults stand by and watch. When one of the boys wipes tears from his face, the teachers burst out laughing. The police in Kenya stated that the recordings were made on the school grounds
The primary school is around 300 kilometers west of the capital, Nairobi. Education Minister Ezekiel Machogu explained that the teachers involved could face disciplinary action up to and including dismissal. Teachers also face prison terms.
