In Karachay-Cherkessia, two veterans were awarded the medal “For the liberation of Belarus”. A commemorative award to participants of the great Patriotic war was awarded the military Commissioner of the Zelenchuk and Urup districts KCR Andrei Tails.
the First medal was awarded to 95-year-old resident of the village of Zelenchukskaya Vasiliy Zinchenko. In 1943 he was drafted into the Red Army in December 1944, received the first wound when he was dragged from the battlefield a wounded comrade. From the front 19-year-old marine returned with medals “For military merit” and “For victory over Germany”.
His fellow countryman Ivan Rudenko was called to service in February 1944. He finished the war in Germany. Has medals “For courage”, “For military merit”, order of the red Star and personal thanks from Stalin. After the war he returned to the village Zelenchuksky, and devoted his life to working timber mill.
In honor of the soldiers the soldiers of the 34th infantry brigade marched in parade formation. During the great Patriotic war of Karachay-Cherkessia went to the front of 46 thousand people. For courage and bravery 19 residents of the Republic awarded the title hero of the Soviet Union, seven persons became full Cavaliers of the order of Glory.
