According to the RBC data from the study, in December last year, 54% of Russians stated that all individuals should pay taxes, and care from them cannot be justified, while 35% of respondents admitted evasion in some cases. In times of crisis, the attitude of Russians to “deviators” improved: in may, the 2020 tax evasion allow for 45% of the respondents.
According to experts of the CSR, the change is because of people falling revenues and increase anxiety about the future. For example, 60% of Russians said about the lower wages in may compared with February. Another 53% said their salaries in the future with high probability will decrease. Two thirds of citizens are concerned that they will not have enough money to cover their way of life.
