Director of National intelligence John Ratcliffe has responded to the leak in the media about the alleged collusion of Russia and the militants of the extremist movement “Taliban” (banned in Russia) with the aim of killing American soldiers in Afghanistan. His statement leads TASS.
According to him, the publication of intelligence information undermine the work of U.S. intelligence and endanger U.S. troops.
Ratcliffe stressed that currently the Ministry is still studying the alleged intelligence mentioned in the media reports.
“unfortunately, the unauthorized disclosure now jeopardizes the ability of our side ever fully figure out all aspects of an event from the point of view of these allegations,” — concluded the head of intelligence.
On 26 June, the newspaper The New York Times, citing US intelligence agencies reported that the Russian military intelligence secretly offered to pay for the murder of American soldiers. Thus, Moscow wanted to disrupt the peace negotiations, the U.S. and the Taliban, says the publication. In Russia, accusations are called unfounded. The us President said that he was not informed “about the so-called Russian attacks on our troops in Afghanistan.”
