Three years have passed since Microsoft introduced Windows 11, the latest version of the operating system used by most PCs. Now, the company is urging users of the older Windows 10 to make the switch before support for Windows 10 ends in 2025.

Tech expert Omar Gallaga explains that while Microsoft is phasing out support for Windows 10, there is still hope for users who are unable or unwilling to upgrade to Windows 11 by the deadline.

Here are some key points to note:

– In April of this year, Microsoft officially announced the end of support for Windows 10. Despite this, the company observed that many users were slow to update their systems. As a result, Microsoft made another push for upgrades in October.

– Once Windows 10 support expires, users will no longer have access to tech support, and security updates will cease for enterprise customers. However, individuals can still receive security updates for Windows 10 for an additional year by paying a fee of $30.

– Surprisingly, approximately 65% of Windows users are still operating on Windows 10, indicating a significant number of users who have yet to make the switch to Windows 11.

– It’s important to note that some PCs running Windows 10 may not meet the system requirements for Windows 11. In such cases, users would need to invest in a new computer to upgrade to the latest version of the operating system.
