Federation of independent trade unions of Russia (FITUR) made a proposal to increase the minimum size of unemployment benefits several times, to the level of the subsistence minimum in the region.
In a letter to the Chairman of the FNPR David Crystal, according to “Izvestia” said that the minimum allowance should be set at the level of the subsistence minimum of able-bodied population in the region for the second quarter of last year, and a maximum size at the level of the average salary in the entity.
If the bill is adopted, the amount of the benefit will be from 12 to 51 thousand rubles. The letter also stated that the allowance should be not less than half of the lost earnings. In the FNPR indicated that such rules are assigned in the Convention of the International labour organization.
