Ukraine will open free courses for learning the Ukrainian language. About it reports the UNIAN.
This initiative was made by the new language, the Ombudsman Taras Flint.
According to him, public institutions and local authorities should be encouraged to create all necessary favorable conditions for language learning. “We are talking about the mass implementation of such courses. I think this is exactly the initiative would lie both on schools and local authorities”, — he stressed.
Taras Flint was appointed as a language Ombudsman on 8 July. He was one of the authors of the language law and initiated the Ukrainization of the schools. According to this law, the Ukrainian language became mandatory for public authorities and local governments, educational institutions, hospitals and service sectors. In September 2019 was also adopted by the education act, which actually prohibits teaching in any language other than Ukrainian.
