Ukraine recognized the lack of data on the existence of threats to the country from the South, however, strengthened the combat readiness of troops near the border with Crimea. This was stated by commander of joint forces of armed forces of Ukraine Serhiy New, transfers “RBC-Ukraine”.
“Information about the activation of the forces of the enemy in the southern direction, namely from the Crimea, the combined forces command with no APU. But we have increased all types of intelligence, which every day we receive information,” — said New.
According to him, in Kiev is aware of the possibility of Russia’s rapid military build-up near the Ukrainian border and understand “all development scenarios of the situation in this direction”. In this regard, the commander said, the military already had worked out joint actions with the National police, the security Service of Ukraine and the National guard.
Earlier, the Deputy Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Vasily Bodnar stated that Russia could carry out an “act of aggression” due to the lack of water in Crimea. He stressed that the authorities are ready to restore water supply to Crimea only after the return of the Peninsula to the Ukraine. Also, the diplomat noted that Russia could launch a military attack on the territory of Ukraine from the Caucasus.
