The International Cykelunion postpone the period for the suspended cycling to 1. June.
That will not run the great race before after before after 1. June.
It is fixed, according to The International Cykelunion (UCI) on Wednesday decided to extend the period of suspended cycling as a result of the entire coronakrisen.
It informed the UCI in a press release after a meeting between representatives of the race organizers, the teams and the riders.
– In view of the serious state of health in the entire world has the UCI together with the stakeholders unanimously decided to extend the suspension of the bike race to 1. June, and until another be reported out, it sounds in the press release from the UCI.
All the professional bike race was already cancelled until may, and with the extended period, then it means that the World Tour during the Critérium du Dauphiné might not run as planned.
Etapeløbet was set to start 31. may, but when it gets to a reunion with the race, as the Danish Jakob Fuglsang has won twice with its victories in 2017 and 2019.
the Decision, however, has no significance for the Tour de France, which thus still live in a time when virtually all other major sporting events either are canceled or postponed in most of the world.
the Critérium du Dauphiné is one of the great forberedelsesløb for the Tour, which also Switzerland Around typically plays a big role, when the Tour-the riders must be the last shape in place.
Switzerland Around has start 7. June, and thus is not subject to the current suspension.
Coronakrisen has also meant that all the spring cycling classics is cancelled or postponed, and the same is the large stage race, the Giro d’italia.
