Anyone who has visions should go to the doctor. That’s what Helmut Schmidt once said, Chancellor. visions? “When I close my eyes, I see curry sausages,” says Martin Rütter, a child in the Ruhr area and a dog trainer. What is to become of the second episode of “The King of the Grown Ups”? Because it is played according to Rütter’s rules. And so it actually starts animal.
Oliver Pocher is announced as “Terrier”. As “Golden Retriever” Guido Cantz. Fiffi Oli is said to be courageous and stubborn, while the “Golden” Guido is said to have a gentle nature. And both are driven to the “pack leader” Martin Rütter in the kennel in the show. The dog trainer actually says as a greeting: “Guido, come on, foot!” That’s a lower level. Don’t let anyone say they weren’t warned.
The first game makes Guido Cantz the “Nipple King”. It is a memory with mini TV scenes that can be activated in pairs using red buttons. Whoever presses the correct clips in a row wins. Guido finds five pairs. Olli zero. Game two suits him better. With a lot of physical effort, he competes in a playback show for a duel. Cantz counters with “scandal in the restricted area”. Pocher teases “Hero” by Enrique Iglesias. Guido tries Michael Bublé’s “Feeling Good”. “There are moments when you wish you weren’t just deaf, but also blind,” Rütter comments on the lectures. Pocher presents himself as a power parodist with Plautze really painlessly – and wins, as expected.
“I think I laughed more at my jokes,” admits Guido Cantz after the gag taxi. With 85 to 96 laughs he loses as a disguised taxi driver who is supposed to entertain passengers. Next game: The two are supposed to disassemble equipment to get close to a target weight. 1200 grams flat screen TV? Then terrier Olli grabs his baseball bat and starts beating wildly – not without scolding and cursing: “Again the Pocher on TV!” He puts 1437 grams on the scales. However, Cantz triumphed with 1265 grams – just a hair’s breadth from the ideal weight.
Pocher and Cantz also compete for the “cramp of the reality stars”. “First pleasure, then work” should be the theme. In fact, Claudia Obert carries a champagne glass on the show – and brings stun guns to strap on, which will have a decisive impact on the upcoming beach soccer game. But the faces are even more contorted in pain when reality wannabe Cosimo and reality wannabe Tessa collide. Tessa Bergmeier obviously really hurts herself and has to leave. There is even talk of a hospital. Ouch. Watching TV in the silly season can be painful – for the viewer too.
“What has been your favorite game so far?”, Oliver Pocher is asked once in a while. “It will definitely come,” he replies. And is probably saying what some viewers will have hoped for after four hours firmly: Pocher made the decisive point in the final game to make it 5: 4. And that’s good – so good that it’s over.
