Anthony Modeste’s (34) contract with 1. FC Köln expires in a year. For FC legend Toni Polster there is only one option for the club.
A sure-fire success: Toni Polster (58), former Cologne attacker, sees the need for the people involved at FC to extend the contract with Anthony Modeste beyond 2023 as quickly as possible. As the “Bild” reports, Polster believes that Modeste “deserves the extension because of his goals and the importance for the team”.
Torgarant: Modeste scored 20 Bundesliga goals last season. “With Modeste, FC finally have a top scorer again. Finding a striker who scores 20 times in the Bundesliga isn’t easy,” said Polster, who was able to celebrate 88 goals in Cologne.
Waiting: Nonetheless, Modeste is on hold in Cologne. The reason: the financial hardship despite participating in the Conference League. According to Cologne’s managing director Christian Keller, Modeste was therefore postponed to talks in autumn.
