He was 79 years old.
“It is with great sadness we can announce that Tim died of covid-19 earlier today (Sunday, red.),” sounds, according to The Guardian, in a statement from Tim Brooke-Taylor’s agent.
The 79-year-old comedian and actor was best known to represent one-third of the popular 70’s shows ‘The Goodies’.
His actor-colleague Graeme Garden tells the BBC that he is in deep sorrow over the loss of a dear colleague and close friend for over 50 years.
“He was a funny, social and generous man who was a pleasure to work with,” he says, and adds:
“the Viewers found him not only insanely funny, but also adorable. The loss of him in this terrible time is very hard to bear, and my thoughts are with Christine, Ben, Edward and their families.
Christine, Ben and Edward are, respectively, Tim Brooke-Taylor’s wife and two sons that he leaves behind.
Tim Brooke-Taylor began his acting career at Cambridge University, and began in the 1960’s to star in different tv shows.
however, He was only really a known face in the Uk – and abroad – in the 1970s thanks to the show ‘The Goodies’.
“We will remember him for so much, but will have to mention ‘The Goodies,” says Brooke-Taylor’s agent.
“He had many fans, as he always treated cheerfully – even after long and exhausting rehearsals and recordings.”
