Oklahoma City’s No. 2 scorer, Lu Dort. After having surgery to repair a cartilage tear in his left side, Lu Dort, Oklahoma City’s No. 2, will be out for the remainder of the season.
The team announced that Dort joined reserves Ty Jerome (reserve) and Mike Muscala (Thunder players) who underwent procedures Tuesday.
Dort, an established defensive guard, increased his offensive game and averaged 17.2 points per game. According to the team, Dort is expected to resume full basketball activities by next season.
Muscala, who is a power forward and center, underwent procedures to fix his right ankle injury. Muscala, a crowd favorite, averaged 8.2 points in 43 games and shot 42.9% at 3-point range. He will likely return to full basketball activities before the 2022-23 season.
Jerome, who plays small forward and guard, underwent surgery to correct a sports hernia. In 48 games, he averaged 7.1 point per game. He will likely return to full basketball in eight weeks.
Already, the Thunder were without their starting point guard Josh Giddey (right knee) and they don’t expect him to return for at least a few more weeks.
