Instagram is currently experiencing a major disruption. Thousands of German users report problems logging in, with the app and the stories.
Numerous Instagram users were locked out on Monday due to a technical error in the social network. Some couldn’t log in. For others, the message “We blocked your account on October 31, 2022” appeared.

The platform, which belongs to the Facebook group Meta, confirmed the problem on Twitter with the words: “We are aware that some of you are having problems accessing your Instagram account. We are investigating and apologize for the inconvenience.”
The notifications that they had been suspended from the platform caused confusion among affected users as they had not taken any action to justify being locked out. Those affected were also concerned whether the erroneous blocking would also lead to a drastic drop in the number of followers. Tech portal The Verge reported that Portuguese soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo’s Instagram account appears to have lost 3 million followers in a short period of time.
