According to the Director of the International centre for political expertise Evgeny Minchenko, the country has the ability to reach pre-crisis level in one or two years.
The decision to extend the measures of isolation, which was received by the President of Russia Vladimir Putin was an objective continuation of the previous measures. Such opinion in conversation with “Star” announced the Director of the International center for political expertise Evgeny Minchenko.
“I think this crisis, Russia – at least so far – is quite successful. However, plateau is not yet completed, the peak incidence does not take place. So, naturally, it was decided to extend the regime of self-isolation for a few days. And then decisions will be taken depending on the situation in each specific region. Overall, I believe that this humanistic logic – in order to save innocent people at risk, went to serious losses for the economy”, – said the expert.
However, at present it is difficult to make forecasts regarding the recovery of Russia after the aforementioned economic losses, said Minchenko. According to experts, the country has the ability to reach pre-crisis level in one or two years.
“logically, in a year or two Russia has the opportunity to reach pre-crisis gross domestic product. But there are a lot of factors. The price of oil – today it was the forecast in which the average price is about thirty dollars per barrel. It’s still below forty dollars per barrel – the price at which laid out the budget”, – said Minchenko.
About the decision to extend the measures of isolation up to the end of the may holidays, Vladimir Putin declared in a speech devoted to the fight against the pandemic in Russia. Events dedicated to celebration of Victory Day remain valid, but will be once the epidemiological situation is safe. Nevertheless, the ninth of may, the Russians will be able to see the air show in the skies over Moscow and other cities of the country.
