U.S. Secretary of state Mike Pompeo announced the expansion of the government program Clean Path new plan Clean Network. It includes five initiatives. Thanks to one of them, the U.S. will cut off China’s access to underwater Internet cables.
The purpose of the Clean Network — to get rid of Chinese network equipment of the infrastructure of the United States and allied countries. The program will now be extended to mobile operators, app stores, software, cloud structure and submarine cables.
Under the new program, the US will not allow to telecommunications networks, the United States was connected to an unreliable mobile network operators in the PRC. Also, the United States will make efforts to mobile application stores disappeared unsafe Chinese apps. In addition, it will block the ability of Chinese companies to preinstall the “trusted” application.
Under the fourth initiative, the storing and processing of personal data of Americans should not be made the cloud available to foreign enemies of the United States.
The fifth initiative will cut China’s access to underwater Internet cables. The United States will not allow the country to use them for intelligence gathering.
