WASHINGTON, April 24 – RIA Novosti. The US should force Russia and China to the markets of nuclear technologies under their influence, and to become a world leader in this area, this is stated in the strategy of the Ministry of energy of the United States, published on the Agency’s website.
In particular, RF Ministry of energy proposes to prevent the establishment of lasting relations of Russia and China with “near Eastern and African States.” In addition, the authors of the strategy want to give the Commission US nuclear regulatory authority “to refuse to import nuclear fuel manufactured in Russia and China, to ensure national security.”
In this regard, it is proposed to reduce the size of the Russian nuclear fuel allowed to be imported into the United States. In particular, we are talking about countering the activities of the fuel company of Rosatom TVEL.
In 2016, the TVEL signed the first contract with one of the leading American nuclear power plant operators on pilot operation of its nuclear fuel “TVs-Kvadrat”.
Earlier it was reported that the volume of foreign orders of “Rosatom” on the ten-year period to end 2019 will be 133-135 billion. Ten-year orders portfolio includes projects that should be done during this period.
the composition of the portfolio of foreign orders “Rosatom” includes not only contracts for the construction of nuclear power plants, but also contracts in other areas of the peaceful atom.
