The head of the State Duma Committee on Security and Anti-Corruption Vasily Piskarev called the number of terrorist attacks prevented in Russia for the first half of 2021. This is reported in the Telegram channel of the committee.
Piskarev noted that, according to the Prosecutor General’s Office, during this period, 18 crimes under Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Terrorist act”were prevented at the stage of preparation and attempt in the country. The deputy stressed that the result of systematic work to combat terrorism was a significant reduction in crimes of this orientation in Russia. At the same time, he said that terrorism knows no borders and the danger of its spread around the world does not weaken.
Earlier it was reported that in the Stavropol Territory, extremists who planned to stage a terrorist attack in the Kislovodsk police were arrested for two months. They were accused of organizing and participating in the activities of an extremist organization, preparing for a terrorist attack and illegally manufacturing and storing explosive devices. In addition to those who were preparing an explosion at the local police station, extremists associated with them were detained who were preparing money for militants in Syria.
