About why the Scorpions began to present the forthcoming 19th Studio album with this track, the band said on its site.
“these days we are working on more songs in the style of hard-n-heavy for the new album. But due to the dramatic pandemic Covid-19 and want to publish first premiere now. And to give you this small sign of hope (that is just the Sign Of Hope), which comes to you from our hearts in these troubled times. Stay healthy and be safe! We love you! Your Scorpions”.
“Sign of hope” really turned “small” – a new ballad that sounds a little more than two minutes. But the song is very good and really gives hope and optimism.

And the lyrics are very good, in particular this: “In difficult times, when everything goes wrong, we need to have friends to support each other and to take is even a little hope… We are here with you… And will still be good!”
