Russian employment centers will guide young mothers on maternity leave, for training in occupations in demand. A bill containing such a provision, approved by the government, reports the newspaper “Izvestia”.
The author of the project became the Vice-speaker of the state Duma Irina Yarovaya. According to the document, the young mothers can turn to the employment service not only locally, but also at the place of actual stay. This law will help women on maternity leave not only to recover faster in the labour force, but also to combine study and family responsibilities, stated in the opinion of the government.
Some factions said that not all women will want to take advantage of this program. In particular, the parties pointed to the fact that mothers on maternity leave do not have enough time to work or study. In response, the Chairman of the Union of women of Russia Ekaterina Lakhova said that women should themselves choose to learn them new skills or not.
It is expected that the bill will consider in September.
