The Russian government will adopt the amendments to the law on tourism, which will save travellers abroad in case of emergency. In addition, the authorities impose restrictions on persons who are allowed to lead tour companies. They must not have a criminal record or be involved in administrative responsibility more than three times a year for violations in tourism activities.
The need for amendments to the law “About bases of tourist activity in the Russian Federation” has arisen because of the pandemic coronavirus and the subsequent closure of the borders. The virus also triggered the economic crisis, which many tour operators run the risk of becoming bankrupt.
