“Power when there is a fan base”: The reason for the revitalization of the Bundesliga, in addition to the performance, is above all the supporters of the respective clubs, says Hellmann. The 50-year-old had already realized on the “final stretch of last season” “what force will be unleashed here after the pandemic, when the fan base is there”.
Hellmann’s initial concerns: Only a year ago, Hellmann expressed his fear of the Bundesliga being “dwarfed” by smaller clubs becoming less attractive.
