Exactly 75 years after the historical Victory Parade of 1945 in front of the stands on red square on June 24, marched nearly fifteen thousand soldiers of the Russian army.
Among the invited Russian President Vladimir Putin and foreign guests at the anniversary celebration of the defeat of fascism and the victory in the great Patriotic war on red square was attended by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko together with his sons, reports his press-service.
On the podium for the guests of honor next to renowned veterans, according to news channels, was also attended by the presidents of Kazakhstan, Moldova, Serbia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, representatives of the higher authorities of several other States. At the celebration were invited the heads of international organizations, including Chairman of the Eurasian economic Commission Mikhail Myasnikovich and CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas.
In a military parade this year was attended by representatives of 13 States, including from the CIS countries, Serbia, China, Mongolia and India. On the cobblestones of red square marched the banner group honor guard of the defense Ministry of Belarus, which has carried the banners of the guerrilla unit named iron ore, as well as compounds involved in the liberation of Belarus from Nazi invaders. By the way, I specify the sources for the flags of these compounds was carried during a historical parade 75 years ago.
After the parade of Victory the leaders of the Union state together with the heads of foreign countries laid in the Alexander garden flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier near the Kremlin wall, having observed a minute of silence in memory of those killed in the war.
the Memorial complex, BelTA reminds, includes tombstone, on which is a bronze composition – a soldier’s helmet and a Laurel branch lying on the banner. In the centre is a niche with the inscription “your Name is unknown, your deed is immortal” with a bronze star, in the middle of which burns an Eternal fire.
to the Left of the tomb is a wall with the inscription “1941 died for the Motherland 1945” on the right – a granite walkway with blocks, which are inscribed with the names of the twelve hero cities, including Minsk and the Brest fortress, and the image of the medal “gold Star”. The blocks contain capsules with the ground hero cities.
