Vice-President of the Russian Union of travel industry Yuri Bastrykin in an interview with TV channel “Star” predicted prices for tourist trips to Russia this year.
According to him, the price of permits in 2020 will remain the same, growth is not expected. According to the expert, during the year the flow of tourists in Russia will fall by 30-50 percent, while domestic tourism will be restored by August, if not a second wave of infection of the coronavirus.
Basargin believes that overseas travel will resume in the fall. “This is probably the first and foremost is the Mediterranean, Turkey”, — he said, noting that Europe will be opened to the Russians by the end of the year, the overall recovery of the tourism market will take a year and a half.
Earlier in the state Duma has named the preliminary date for the opening of beaches in Russia in the conditions of a pandemic coronavirus. According to the head of Committee on physical culture, sport, tourism and youth Affairs Mikhail Degtyarev, it can happen on 1 July. He noted that the tourist season in the country begins in spite of everything, albeit with restrictions and a significant time shift. In the regions the decision to open the resort facilities will be made “on the basis of epidemiological situation.”
