The Ministry of health of Peru reported on Tuesday that the total number of people infected with coronavirus in the country has exceeded 10 thousand people. The corresponding statement was published on the website of the national government.
"the Ministry of health [Peru] informs the public that as of April 14, 102, 216 people took the test for the presence of [caused by coronavirus diseases] COVID-19. The results [of tests] 10 303 people were positive", – said in a statement. It is noted that 230 people died because of the infection of coronavirus, 2, 869 patients recovered.
In mid-March, Peru’s President Martin Vizcarra in connection with the epidemic of the coronavirus declared a state of emergency, which involves the closure of borders and a ban on the operation of enterprises. Later, the leadership of the Republic adopted the decision on the introduction of a curfew to prevent the spread of infection and extended the state of emergency until April 26.
