beginning In 1913, the Alsatian Albert Schweitzer installs a hospital in equatorial Africa, at the edge of the Ogooué. His motivation is driven by the immense “respect for life” and his indignation to see men suffer, abandoned the rest of humanity. His vocation has not been immediate.
