the Press service of the Ministry of defence of the Czech Republic rejected the request of Russia about transfer of a monument to Marshal Konev, was dismantled in April in Prague.
the Department explained that the monument belongs to the municipality and the Ministry of defence does not have rights on the transfer of the object.
“the Monument is not the property of the Ministry of defence… Also, for legal reasons, cannot be included in the category of war graves. The decision to dismantle the monument was taken municipality of the city district Prague 6, having the right of ownership to it… Thus, the defense has no right to make a decision about his possible transfer of Russia”, – the press service quoted the defense Minister of the Czech Republic Lubomir Menara.
