The Ministry of agriculture Russia has banned the export of buckwheat in the EEU countries

we will Remind, earlier today it became known that President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has ordered to increase production of buckwheat in the Republic, allegedly due to difficulties with the supply of the cereals from Russia.

“the Russians have refused to work with us, as it was in Soviet times, when we there more bought buckwheat: there’s more grows than us,” he said. Their own Republic covers only half of its needs. The remaining volume is purchased mainly in Russia.

meanwhile, the Russian Ministry of agriculture are reminded that a ban on the export of buckwheat and of certain other products introduced by the EEC from 12 April to 30 June for countries outside the EEU. In member countries (including Belarus) this prohibition does not apply. This measure applied by the EEC to ensure market of the Eurasian economic Union necessary foodstuffs.

the Russian agriculture Ministry also noted that Russia fully satisfies domestic demand in the rump. In 2020 the Ministry expects an increase in acreage of buckwheat by 51.6 thousand hectares, to 858,2 thousand ha.
