Accumulating the volume of patients in hospitals and intensive care units creates a burden on the health system and generates a high mortality rate in Moscow, said Moscow mayor Sergei Sobyanin at the meeting of the coordinating Council for combating coronavirus.
"Doctors are fighting for the life of each person. This means that the severely ill are in the hospitals and in intensive care for 2-3 weeks, and this accumulated amount, of course, creates a greater load on the health system, and on the other hand it generates a high mortality rate in Moscow", – said Sobyanin.
The mayor noted that in may the death rate more than in April.
"We wave in April and early may see today in the form of seriously ill people who are in a difficult situation. This is a natural process", – said the mayor.
