When the first version of “Brothers and sisters”, Lev Dodin was only 33 years. In the biblical age he was talking about the fact that everyone in the world brothers and sisters, and everyone in the world knows what unfulfilled hope, faith, and diminishing faith, love, hate, satiety, hunger, passion.
“This is a play about what it is impossible not to remember on a day – preceded by a screening of the Maly drama theatre. – On the Russian village, the land, which were sent to war soldiers – their fathers, husbands and sons – and received back funerals that fed the country with bread and I bread’t seen that “such a war shoved”, but the best life is a long time to wait”.
