WASHINGTON, April 14 – RIA Novosti. The Board of Directors of the International monetary Fund (IMF) approved the program at $ 500 million for debt relief to the Fund for the poorest countries affected by the coronavirus, said in a statement the head of Fund of Kristalina Georgieva.
Georgieva added that the Fund would provide “grants to our poorest and most vulnerable members to cover their debt obligations to the IMF at an early stage and for the next six months.”
This step “will help them to direct more of its limited financial resources on the vital emergency medical and other activities in the provision of emergency care.”
