The Prime Minister of Russia Mikhail Mishustin signed the decree about creation of the governmental Commission on the Russian language, the document is published on the official Internet portal of legal information.
"the government of the Russian Federation decides: to form a governmental Commission on the Russian language", – stated in the document.
According to the decree, a government Commission on the Russian language will be headed by the Minister of education of the Russian Federation Sergey Kravtsov.
"the Commission approved by the government of the Russian Federation. The Commission is chaired by the Minister of education of the Russian Federation", – the document says.
Also by this resolution were approved the corresponding regulations on government Commission on the Russian language.
"the Commission in addressing its tasks: a) develop requirements for the preparation of dictionaries containing norms of modern Russian literary language at its use as a state language of the Russian Federation; b) develop a procedure for the examination of grammars, dictionaries and reference books containing norms of modern Russian literary language at its use as a state language of the Russian Federation", – the document says.
"the Main tasks of the Commission are: a) analysis of existing norms of modern Russian literary language at its use as a state language of the Russian Federation and rules of Russian spelling and punctuation, as well as their improvement", – said in the text of the document.
Also among the tasks of the Commission – ensuring concerted actions of the authorities in implementing a unified state policy in the field of conservation, development and protection of the Russian language, increase of level of preparation of experts whose activity is related to the professional use of the Russian language.
Mishustin last week announced the creation of the governmental Commission on the Russian language. He said that the Commission will focus the development of the concept of state language policy and the formation of uniform requirements for dictionaries, grammar and reference books containing norms of modern Russian literary language. The Prime Minister also considers necessary to make an examination of Russian spelling and punctuation. He also noted that an important part of the Commission’s work will be the question of raising the level of training of specialists – especially those, whose activity is connected with use of the Russian language.
