Bioinformatics from Cambridge, using artificial intelligence, found in the genetic sequence of SARS-CoV-2 insert of eight amino acids that are identical to the same fragment in one of the most important human proteins. This insert is located on that place of the genome, which presumably determines the penetration of the virus into human cells. According to the authors, it is absolutely unique, it no longer exists in any of the coronaviruses.
Geneticist, Professor at the University of göttingen (Germany) Konstantin Krutovsky in conversation with “Izvestia” has put forward four hypotheses of the emergence of SARS-CoV-2 region of the human protein.
“of Course, it might be random mutation-panel but the probability of such events is negligible. The second variant: an intermediate host of the coronavirus has an insert identical to the human, which was adapted in the process of natural selection and mutation. But while such owner is not found. Third: the virus has long existed in human populations, or it was massirovala (grown in vitro) on human cells. And fourth, it is artificially inserted”, — said the expert.
According to the expert on coronaviruses, head of the laboratory of ecology of microorganisms of the University (University — participant of the project of increase of competitiveness of “5-100”) and of the laboratory of Virology FNTS Biodiversity Feb RAS Michael shchelkanova, it is natural for such pathogens. This fragment of the genome was obtained by the coronavirus by accident, as a result of mutations, but it gave him the opportunity so widely spread in the human population, even to cause a pandemic.
However, the fact that the predicted bioinformatique, still need to prove the so-called wet experiments, is convinced head of the Department of Virology of biological faculty of Moscow state University Olga Karpova. In her opinion, much of that was based on the calculations in the laboratory were not working or working otherwise.
Previously, “news” already wrote about the possibilities of modern science to fully identical to SARS-CoV-2 artificial virus.
