Sand is headed “Rostselmash” in 1978 and remained Director of the plant for almost 20 years. In 1983-1984 he worked as the Deputy Minister of tractor and agricultural machine building of the USSR. He holds the title of Hero of Socialist Labor.
Now 83-year-old Sands retired, he lives in a village on the shore of the Azov sea in 100 km from Rostov-on-don.
