Moscow drew attention to the decree of the President of the United States Donald trump about the possibility of introducing sanctions against those countries who are delaying the evacuation of its citizens from the United States, said RIA Novosti Deputy foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov. According to him, the Russian side will deal with "similar to signal", but now is not the time to talk about the introduction of any new sanctions.
"We have to deal with the content side of this signal. While few specifics, but in any case, now is not the time when you need to contact me for any reason to the sanctions Toolkit. We repeatedly spoke about it, did it in national capacity and will to do, did it do in cooperation with other States, a lot of them, a number of international entities at the level of their leaders spoke in a similar vein," Ryabkov said.
He noted that the international community "sees the negative role of sanctions methods and techniques in the current situation," when restrictions lead to the deterioration of the situation of ordinary people, and not to "change the behavior of governments", as claimed in Washington. In this context, U.S. sanctions are a growing rejection, said a senior Russian diplomat.
"But with regard to this particular warning signal is going to deal with it", – concluded Ryabkov.
Earlier, the Russian foreign Ministry informed that the validity of visas for foreigners in Russia will be extended, regardless of the purpose of their stay in the country because of the coronavirus.
