MOSCOW, 29 Sep – RIA Novosti. Foreign Minister “Norman” format at an upcoming meeting format to discuss issues of Ukraine’s implementation of commitments on the settlement, however, can hardly expect a positive impact of the meeting on the situation in the Donbass, said the Deputy Director of the CIS Institute Vladimir Zharikhin.

Earlier, the head of the foreign Ministry of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleba said that the meeting of foreign Ministers of the Normandy format on the settlement of Ukraine in the videoconference is scheduled for Thursday, all parties have consented.

According to the expert, would love to wait for positive results from the upcoming meeting, but the fact remains that the Ukrainian side of its obligations not fulfilled.

As reported earlier by RIA Novosti Deputy foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko, the main issue for Russia at a video conference of foreign Ministers “Norman format” (Russia, Germany, France, Ukraine) on the settlement in the Donbass will be an assessment of implementation of the leaders ‘ summit in Paris, held in November last year. As noted by the Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, he foresees an important conversation at the upcoming videoconference, but don’t expect any effect on its results.

In the first three years the summit of the countries “Norman Quartet”, which was held in Paris on 9 December 2019, the parties adopted a joint communique and agreed to meet in four months in Berlin to continue work on resolving the situation in Donbas. The communiqué stressed that the Minsk agreements remain the basis for work in the Normandy format, provided by the breeding forces by the end of March 2020 in three new points in the Donbass. The leaders also called on to provide up to the end of the ceasefire in the Donbass.
