More than 350,000 stranded EU citizens is downloaded home the last few weeks, after they are stranded around the world.

It has happened as a result of coronapandemien, which has caused many airlines to cancel flights and countries to restrict entry and exit.

But there are still some 250,000 EU citizens out there who need to get home.

And the EU is working hard to get the rest of the stranded citizens home.

It says the EU’s foreign policy chief, Josep Borrell, at a news conference after an EU meeting on video conference with EU foreign ministers on Friday.

“We have done a lot of work to get the stranded EU citizens home. We’ve got more than 350,000 citizens home, while there are still 250.000 people we are missing.”

“Our efforts will continue, but each day it becomes more difficult. Airlines set their flight, and the sky closes and becomes harder to use,” says Borrell.

According to Borrell, count of 250,000 remaining stranded citizens, among other things, tourists, visitors and people on business trip and is therefore not someone who is resident abroad.
