Although the cause of death of the diplomat is still not disclosed, Israeli media, citing sources, reported that 58-year-old Ambassador Du Wei suffered a cardiac arrest and was found dead in his bed.
Du Wei was appointed head of the Embassy of China in Israel recently – in February, in the midst of a pandemic of mers. Earlier, from 2016 to 2019, he represented China in Ukraine.

And shortly before his sudden death, on Friday, Ambassador Du published on the website of the Embassy a message, in which he denied statements by Secretary of state Mike Pompeo on hiding Beijing coronavirus.
Director General of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Israel Yuval Rotem said that he spoke with the Deputy Ambassador of China to Give Uminom to Express his condolences over the death of the head of the diplomatic mission, and promised that the Ministry will provide the Chinese Embassy with all the necessary assistance.
