With the “Wok-WM” ProSieben had a reliable show and sports event in the program from 2003 to 2015 in the cold season. After the end of Stefan Raab’s television career in front of the camera, wok sport finally came to an end. Now, however, fans of the crazy race can mark a date in their calendar again.
“On November 12, the woks will rush down the ice chute in Winterberg,” announced Daniel Rosemann at this week’s Screenforce Days, where media companies present themselves to their advertising customers and the public. The ProSieben broadcaster boss had already confirmed in February that the show should return – presented by Sebastian Pufpaff, who succeeded Raab at “TV Total” last year.
In addition to the “Wok World Cup”, the red seven also revealed other program plans for the coming season: content produced in-house will soon be running on a whopping five evenings a week. “Sunday evening will be the fifth evening of the week on which we show almost exclusively our own productions,” explained Rosemann. “We are continuing on the path that we successfully embarked on four years ago: More ProSieben from ProSieben to ProSieben.” In the future, Sunday prime time will therefore be reserved for formats in which viewers can “accompany celebrities to places of longing”.
According to ProSieben, a total of four new productions are planned for the Sunday evening slot: “Mission: Job Unknown”, “Local Hero”, “World Most Dangerous Roads” and “Country Challenge” (working title). In the latter format, a live show, celebrities in different countries have to solve bizarre challenges – in the end the audience decides which famous candidate has mastered the task best. In “Mission: Job Unknown” stars like Oliver Pocher and Thomas Hayo are allowed to try new jobs. They try their hand at being “ghost hunters in Ireland”, “lifeguards in Mexico” and “bodyguards in the USA”, among other things.
In “Local Hero” too, celebrity travelers have to face country-specific challenges and find out as much as possible about the respective culture. It gets even more adventurous in “World Most Dangerous Roads” (working title): ProSieben asks “16 celebrities for a special adventure trip behind the wheel”. It’s about “mastering the most dangerous route in a country” in teams. So pure adrenaline!
New show – judge Barbara Salesch celebrates a comeback – but not on Sat.1
The next comeback from the 2000s: Judge Barbara Salesch was a fixture in the program on Sat.1. The last new episode aired in 2012. Now RTL is bringing back the Justice program.
TV column “The price is hot” – Thorsten Schorn mocks Harry Wijnvoord: “12 kilos of cheese are just enough for breakfast”
Sugar cane sand toys, an olive tree, a copper weather vane: The Price Is Hot has a bunch of weird prizes that nobody really needs. And yet the simple classic is apparently well received by the TV audience.
