This temple was supposed to open in may, just in time for the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the great Patriotic war, but because of the coronavirus pandemic, its discovery and consecration was postponed.
In early June, it was reported that the consecration is scheduled for June 22, but now agreed a new date – June 14. The live broadcast of the opening can be seen on TV channels “Zvezda”, “Spas”, “Union” and the official website of the Russian Orthodox Church.
the Cathedral, the decision to build which was adopted in 2018, dedicated to the military exploits of the Russian people in all the wars and built on people’s donations (we collected more than three billion rubles), specified on the website of the Patriarchate. Near the temple is a Museum complex with tens of millions of photographs of participants of the great Patriotic war.
