Devin Booker, Phoenix Suns All Star guard, has suffered a right-hamstring strain. This will affect his ability to play in the remaining playoff series against New Orleans Pelicans.
Booker’s Wednesday MRI by the Suns confirmed a mild hamstring strain. Booker suffered a injury in the third quarter of Tuesday’s Game 2 defeat when he attempted to defend a New Orleans fast break shot. Booker, 25, was sprinting downcourt and jumped before grabbing his right hamstring.
The Pelicans won the game by 125 to 114, evening the series at 1.
Friday, February 3rd in New Orleans: Game 3.
After losing six games to the Milwaukee Bucks last season, the top-seeded Suns want to return to the NBA Finals. They also faced challenges during their run: All-Star guard Chris Paul was out of action with a shoulder injury, and COVID-19 in the playoffs.
Booker, who averaged nearly 27 points per match during the regular season, is the team’s top scorer. Booker had scored 31 points in the first half before he was hurt his hamstring.
